I currently serve as the Treasurer of Melear Pod A in Boynton Beach. I have served in this position since 2014. I am writing today to provide a testimonial for Jackson Lastra Property Management Group owned and operated by Daniel Lastra Perez and Robin S. Crouch.
Our history with Jackson Lastra dates back to October 2018 when we contracted them to become our property manager. In 2014, our existing board was a mess, and it was time for a change. I formulated a plan to unseat that board, recruited the team and executed the plan to win the election in 2014. Between 2014 and 2018, our board had a steep learning curve and growing pains that wasn’t helped by inept management before working with Daniel. The level of service we were getting was suboptimal which led to a workload for board members that wasn’t sustainable as volunteers when we were all leading lives outside of this volunteer service. We took action and hired Jackson Lastra in October 2018. We met Daniel a year or two prior when we hired his company as a vendor to help control rampant parking issues present in our community. We were so impressed and thankful with how they solved that problem that when we found out he also had a property management company, it was a no brainer to hire Jackson Lastra.
The core of our original board team is still together today. While I can only speak on my behalf in this testimonial, I am confident that every single one of our board members would agree with me when I say that hiring Jackson Lastra was one of the best decisions we have made together. And that’s saying a lot considering how much we have accomplished together serving our community. To illustrate that point, we accomplished several improvement projects in the last 3 years. Some of those were planned and several were not. Along the way, Jackson Lastra took the lead to get bids, negotiate and manage those projects in a way that didn’t require additional effort by the board. Jackson Lastra made it easy for us to do what an HOA board should do- evaluate information and decide how to deploy operating and reserve capital for the betterment of the community and to protect property values.
